In the AgBiz Program hosted by AgSouth Farm Credit, 13 participants had the opportunity to sharpen their finance skills in the agricultural business. The program consists of two online e-learning courses, AgBiz Planner and AgBiz Basics, tailored for farmers at different stages in their careers. The program is followed by an in-person networking and educational two-day conference, led by Dr. David Kohl, an agricultural finance and business management expert. The program aims to equip farmers with new business skills to effectively manage and expand their farming operations.

The AgSouth AgBiz participants included farmers from various locations such as Waynesville, NC, Jonesville, NC, Westminister, SC, Carthage, NC, Aiken, SC, Ramsuer, NC, Johnston, SC, Hapeville, GA, Elgin, SC, Stony Point, NC, Branchville, NC, Charlotte, NC, and Carlisle, SC. Participants were also paired with AgSouth Farm Credit loan officers who served as mentors throughout the program.

Vance C. Dalton, Jr., CEO of AgSouth Farm Credit, emphasized that the AgBiz programs are designed to support agriculture and rural communities by providing valuable lessons to young, beginning, small, and minority farmers. Through these programs, farmers have the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful farming business.
